What does a private midwife consultation in Sussex cover?
The Power Hour is genuinely flexible, we go where you need to go. Common topics include:
Home birth planning
Homebirth is my vibe and my passion. If you’re dreaming of birthing at home, whether it’s your first time considering it or you’re coming back after a previous experience, I will tell you everything you need to know. What to expect, how to prepare, how the NHS is supporting Home birth tight now, and how to set up the conditions for the birth you actually want. This is where I come alive.
Birth mapping
Not a tick-box birth plan. A real conversation about what you actually want from this birth, what matters to you, what you’re afraid of, what your body needs, and how to create something that’s wholly and truly yours. We map the whole picture, not just the preferences list.
Induction: understanding your options
If you’re facing induction, you deserve to understand exactly what that means for you, the evidence, the risks, the alternatives, and your right to decline or delay. This isn’t about telling you what to do. It’s about making sure you have everything you need to make the decision that’s right for you and your baby.
Navigating complex or out-of-guidance pregnancies
If your pregnancy is complex, high-risk, or sits outside standard NHS guidelines, the system can feel like it’s making decisions for you rather than with you. In the Power Hour we can go through the relevant evidence and studies together, unpick what the research actually says, and build a clear picture of your real options, so you can move forward with confidence, not fear.
Pregnancy concerns and questions
Not sure how to navigate your care or what to do next? Confused by something you’ve been told? Worried about a test result or symptom? This is the space to bring all of it, the questions you didn’t get to ask, the things that have been sitting with you, the decisions you’re not sure how to make.
VBAC and HBAC planning
If you’ve had a previous caesarean and want to explore vaginal birth this time, I can walk you through the evidence, the risks, your rights, and what the path forward looks like, with the knowledge and tools to help make it happen.
Breech and complex presentations
I hold specialist breech training and can talk through your options if your baby is breech, including what a supported breech birth looks like, ECV, and how to navigate NHS conversations around this.
Breastfeeding support
As an experienced midwife (who also breastfed 2 children for long long time) I understand feeding within the full context of birth and the postnatal body. Whether you’re struggling, preparing, or somewhere in between, this is a space where feeding gets the time and depth it deserves.
Birth story exploration
Sometimes you need to go back before you can move forward. Whether your last birth left you with questions, grief, or something unresolved, we can explore it together in a held, unhurried space.
Postnatal support
The weeks after birth are often when women feel most unsupported. We can cover recovery, feeding, processing your birth experience, or anything that’s surfaced since your baby arrived.
General midwifery consultation
Sometimes you just need an experienced midwife to think something through with you. That’s enough of a reason.
How does it work?
The Power Hour is a virtual private midwife consultation, available to you wherever you are in the UK. You book online, we meet on video call, and you leave with clarity. Whether that’s a concrete plan, a straight answer, evidence you can take back to your care team, or simply the reassurance of having talked it through with someone who truly understands birth, one hour can change a lot.
There’s no obligation to book further care, though many women do.
The Power Hour is available to book now, virtually, wherever you are.
Sussex, Surrey, Kent, or anywhere in the UK, f you need one focused hour with an experienced independent midwife, Book your Power Hour!
