I’m Virginia, an independent midwife for South London families, based in East Sussex. Having worked in London before settling in Sussex, I now open my books to offer continuity of care to families across South East and South West London, down to the M25 and beyond. My passion and expertise is supporting homebirths, I’m experienced in HBAC and out-of-guidance care through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal weeks.
You already know you want something different. You wouldn’t be here otherwise.
You are preparing for something that will change you.
It deserves presence, honouring and someone who understands what it means to hold that threshold with respect.

I’m Virginia. I’ve been a midwife since 2009 and I’ve spent 10+ years working in all NHS settings, particularly, community, home births team and birth centres.
I’m part of Womb & Bloom London & Brighton, a collective of independent midwives, doulas and specialist practitioners caring for families in these areas. We share a person-centred approach to pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, and the collective also runs an Access Fund, which helps local families going through a difficult time to receive antenatal, birth and postnatal support.
I’m based in East Sussex, but I am a happy traveller!
I support families across South East and South West London and down to the M25, from Greenwich and Lewisham to Croydon, Bromley, Wandsworth and Kingston. If you’re not sure whether I can reach you, get in touch.
Yes, I support a homebirth in South London. As with every family, we’ll look at your individual needs and care together.
Because births in South London involve a longer journey for me, I take on clients for whom the distance feels right, and we’ll decide this together during your first exploration call. Some appointments can happen online, but I always aim to meet you one-to-one. At births, I work with second midwives based closer to London, so that if anything unexpected happens, there’s support nearby and we can connect quickly.
I stay with you and advocate for your preferences. In hospital, my role becomes non-clinical – I support you emotionally and help ensure your voice is heard. I maintain relationships with local units in London to ensure continuity of care wherever your birth unfolds.
For the outer areas and London postcodes there’s a flat fee, which is shown on my packages page.
